The preparations were barely done in time, but we managed to have the 5/11 event from 4 p.m. for an hour, gathering in the small chapel of Tokyo Chuo Church in Okubo of Shinjuku Ward. Most churches already had set schedules that made it difficult to come from around the Tokyo area, but 14 select prayer warriors prayed together. We had been sent the Japanese Prayer Guides that were made in Kansai, and although we only used the pages relevent for that day, we were able to pray with all our hearts. Next year is the 150th anniversary of mission work in Japan, so we intend to fully prepare early and promote a movement of effective prayer. Through activities such as New Year's prayer & fasting event, a national prayer dinner in March, an evening of prayer for the nations in August, prayer for Muslims in September, another prayer meeting about the same time to pray for children, and prayer for the persecuted church in November, we hope to cover Japan with a cloud of prayer.
