2009 GDOP in Tokorozawa 印刷

May 31, 2009, 3:00-5:30pm
Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park's Open Stage
Participation: about 240 (as last time, there were Christians from many nations and denominations)

The Open Stage
FootwashingThe event was opened with the blowing of a shofar, followed by opening prayers in English and Japanese, praise, and then 27 missionaries, pastors, and Christian workers came up and we prayed a blessing over them. After that, two gospel choirs made the praise time even more powerful. The two choirs also brought in all that was needed for a sound system, for which we are very grateful. "On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided!" Also, as we did last year, during their praise time space was provided in front for foot-washing, and there were many touching scenes.

After that, in addition to Japan, prayers were led by representatives from South Korea, North Korea, China, Philippines, Israel, North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Caribbean islands.  The congregation prayed along with them in their hearts.

We also had a prayer of blessing for children under age 16. About 20 children went up front, an elementary school girl prayed as representing them, and then we blessed them in prayer.

Messianic DancingThis year also, the Tree of Life Messianic Congregation participated, and during their praise time others also joined in their praise dance, making a large circle. Also a Filipino church came in traditional costume and led in praise and prayer. A Brazilian pastor participated in GDOP for the first time last year and experienced many blessings. In that way, when many Christians gather together in unity, there is blessing. And we were led to have strong prayers in spiritual warfare against the enemy.

This year event was outdoors, so we were concerned about the weather, but although it poured in neighboring areas, there was almost no rain at Aviation Park! The participants were overjoyed. Some comments: "It was my first time to experience such a crowd from so many nations praying together - very touching!" "Very enjoyable! I was definitely come again." "Great!" One nine-year-old boy kept asking his mother lots of questions while participating in the praise and prayer, but said as they were going home. A short-term missionary who came along said, "That was fun!""I was very encouraged." Those of us who planned the event give huge thanks to God who made it all happen!
